Actress Bhuvaneswari arrested in fresh case after drive-in brawl

Chennai, Dec 4: Hardly a week after she was held in a case involving a brawl along with her advocate friend in a drive-in theatre on the city outskirts, police booked Tamil actress Bhuvaneswari in a case of cheating this evening. Police said the case booked last year following a complaint by a business man was that Bhuvanewari, who had sold her car to him later drove away with it from his home hoodwinking his wife when he was away.

In his complaint he said that of the Rs 5 lakhs, for which the actress had sold her car to him, he had paid her Rs 5 lakhs, telling her that he would pay the remaining sum after she hands over the RC book to him. However, one day the actress went to his house and asked his wife for the keys of the car lying to her that she had left behind some costly sarees in the vehicle.
But after taking the keys Bhuvanewari drove away with the car and did not contact him again. Based on the complaint from the businessman, madipakkam police registered a case, investigated the matter aned arrested the actress in the Puzhal central prison after producing the arrest warrant The police then produced the actress before a judicial magistrate who remanded her to 15 days custody.
